Who carries out the mental capacity assessment?
We believe that excellent communication skills and the ability to build a rapport is crucial to supporting someone to make a decision. Our assessors are carefully chosen for their caring personality as well as their professional skills. They hold health or social care qualifications and are registered with the relevant professional and governing bodies. We also ensure that our assessors undertake specific training in regard to mental capacity assessment under the Mental Capacity Act (2005).
I am a member of the public; can I instruct you directly?
Absolutely, however, we believe that having a legal professional onboard, such as a solicitor or will writer, ensures that our assessment is serving the exact purpose it needs to. Therefore, we only take instructions for cases where there is a professional involved. We can help you source a trusted professional if you don't currently have one.
